Helle Sparre was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1956. She began playing tennis at the age of six and by age 19 she was the Number One ranked player in her country. In 1978 Helle advanced to the round of 32 at Wimbledon and later on that year she won the U.S. Clay Court Women’s Doubles Championship.
In 1997 Helle competed for the victorious U.S. Women’s 40′s team in the World Cup and win the 40′s World Doubles Championship. Helle is currently the Head Tennis Pro at Scott Valley Swimming & Tennis Club in Mill Valley, CA, ten minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge.

This book has been very influential in the development of my doubles game. As a tennis coach, it has created a foundational piece in my doubles philosophy. Using the principles in this book, I was able to develop a reputation as a very strong doubles coach. On the way to winning a North Coast Section title, my doubles teams won 12 of 14 possible doubles matches, including sweeping the three doubles matches in the finals. Thank you Helle for your work and I will always reference this appropriately in my own works.

Excellent book, but she should also address what level she is talking about and stroke, because you can get there in still miss becasuse of a faulty swing.
Loved the book. A tennis pro visiting Hawaii last December recommended the book. I ordered for my kindle but realized the charts would be better in hard copy. Thank goodness, the pro sent one to me. I'm trying to get the pro at my club to get our ladies to follow the plan. ,
